A great way to advertise is to use bumper stickers. They are easy to make. They offer a cheap way to get your message across. They look cool. They’re sticky. I could go on and on.
Instead of me rambling about my love of bumper stickers, check out this tutorial, which will show you how to make your own!
1. Plan your design.
Before starting any project, sketch out a plan. Decide on your message, colors and layout.
Also, go ahead and purchase the bumper sticker paper you will use. You can find it at office supply or stationary stores.
2. Set up the design.
A standard bumper sticker is about four inches by 11 inches.
You can use any design software you have on your computer (even Microsoft Word) to create a digital version of your design. I used Adobe Photoshop CS5.
TIP: Leave at least an eighth of an inch border.
3. Insert images and text.
Place your images, illustrations and/or text within the design area. Double check for spelling or grammar mistakes.
Use a text color that contrasts with the background color. Make sure the font is easily legible.
TIP: Images should be at least 300 DPI.
4. Print a sample.
Print your sticker on plain paper to make sure it looks right and the margins line up with the bumper sticker paper.
5. Print the sticker.
If there are no more edits, print on the bumper sticker paper.
TIP: Try using a clear liquid laminate or even clear shelf liner paper.
Get to sticking!
Now that you have your bumper sticker ready, hand them out all over town. Next time you can try creating stickers with your logo, web address and phone number to advertise your business everywhere you drive.
