Want to create text-only stickers to decorate your room? Something with a special message that will make your space more personal? If you’ve never made stickers before, perhaps it’s time you give it a try.
All you have to do is follow this short guide’s steps. It will show you everything you need to know.
Step 1. Materials.
If you’re making your stickers at home, you will need the following items: an image editor of your choice, an inkjet printer, sheets of self-adhesive paper, and sheets of clear laminate.
If you prefer to have your custom stickers printed and delivered, you can simply use your image editor to create the file and let the online printer do the rest.
Here are some high-rated services to try: UPrinting or PSPrint. Make sure to read the printing specs before uploading your files.
Step 2. Quotes.
The most important thing about your text sticker is the message. It doesn’t matter what the sticker is about. If it’s relevant for you, it can be about anything at all.
Sometimes you already know what you want on the sticker, while other times you have a nice concept but are having a tough time putting it into words.
If that’s the case, don’t worry. Chances are somebody already said it using the witty words you’re looking for. If you can’t come up with the right lines, you can choose a quote or a slogan and adapt it.
You will find hundreds of impressive quotes and slogans covering a wide range of subjects on sites like Goodreads and Wikiquote.
Step 3. Lettering.
Pretty lettering will greatly influence the look of your sticker. To make the sticker truly unique, you can go for a hand-lettered message.
The simplest option is to pick a typeface that will suit the look you have in mind for your sticker. Try different fonts, colors, and effects. Add background images and determine which combination is the most appealing.
Step 4. Prepare for printing.
Once your sticker is ready for printing, flip the text horizontally. Create a document matching your paper’s size. You can print more stickers using the same sheet of adhesive paper by pasting more designs into the same document.
Keep all the artwork away from the borders, set your printer, and test on plain paper. Make the necessary adjustments if needed. Print the sticker on your inkjet adhesive paper.
Step 5. Sticker completion.
To make the stickers shiny and durable, lay the adhesive sheet flat on an even surface and add a coating of clear laminate over it. Cut out the stickers with scissors, a knife, or a trimmer and attach them on your walls or wherever you want!
Use your words.
Stickers are always a lot of fun, especially if you use them to express your personality. Creating them is really easy. It doesn’t require a lot of preparation and supplies are usually cheap and not hard to find.
