In this tutorial, I will show you how to create colorful stickers for Christmas to use in scrapbooking projects, to decorate your greeting cards, to add a finishing touch to your presents or to simply give to your friends and family during the holiday season.

Start by launching your image editor and creating a blank document sized 8.5 inches by 11 inches with a resolution of 300.

I’m using Adobe Illustrator, but you can choose another because the workflow is similar. I’m using Illustrator because it uses vector graphics, making it easy not only to create the stickers but also to make them bigger and smaller according to my needs.

How to Make Christmas Stickers 1

I’m going to make a Christmas tree sticker. I start by drawing a simple green triangle with the polygon tool. I then copy and paste the same shape and overlap the two copies.

Next I add a brown rectangle shape for the trunk and position it behind the triangles. I also apply a rounded corners effect to all of the shapes.

I want to add some pizzazz to the tree, so I will add a star and a few colored baubles to it. With the star tool, I draw the star and place it on top of the tree. I also apply a rounded corners effect to match the style of the tree.

I then make a series of circles with the ellipse tool and position them around, making them different in size and color.

The basic sticker is now ready, but to save time and resources, you can have more stickers in the same document.

Depending on your requirements, you can fill your document with different stickers made using the techniques I illustrated or you can make copies to print several stickers at once.

How to Make Christmas Stickers 4

For printing the stickers at home, you will need sticker inkjet paper and a printer. Make sure you buy paper that is compatible with the model of your printer.

Before printing on the adhesive paper, make some tests. After printing, cut the stickers out with a precision knife or scissors.

If you want, you can add a glossy coating by applying a layer of clear laminate over the adhesive inkjet paper before cutting out the stickers.

How to Make Christmas Stickers 5

You can create stickers for Christmas in any style by using your favorite images. You don’t have to stick (pun intended) to what others do. Be original and have fun!
